Philadelphia Regional Incentives Currently, there are no regional or local incentives expressly for biodiesel use. We will add information here as new developments arise for our region.
PA State Incentives Act 178 of 2004 also expands the AFIG program to help school districts, transit authorities, local government agencies and nonprofit organizations buy down the added cost to use biodiesel fuel.

U.S. public school
districts, including federally recognized tribal organizations that operate
schools, can submit proposals to support biodiesel demonstration projects
through the EPA’s $7.5 million Clean
School Bus USA Grant Program. Groups of school districts, such as
School District Councils and BOCES (Boards of Cooperative Educational
Services) are also eligible.
The National Biodiesel
Board is interested in YOUR ideas on how biodiesel can be used in the EPA
Clean School Bus USA Grant Program.
Click here to give us a brief description of
your proposed project. ALSO.... Federal legislation included in the American JOBS Creation Act of 2004 has introduced a biodiesel tax credit. The credit is for one cent per percentage of biodiesel in each gallon for "agri-biodiesel" (made from virgin oils) and half of one cent per percentage of biodiesel from recycled feedstock in each gallon purchased. For example, a tax-paying fleet using a B20 blend (20% biodiesel, 80% petrodiesel) from soy-based biodiesel would receive a credit of $.20 per gallon purchased. In most cases, however, this credit will be taken by the fuel blender, and the savings passed on in the form of a smaller margin for the consumer. The forms for blender credit are now available online at www.biodiesel.org. More federal biodiesel legislative information is available through the Department of Energy's National Clean Cities website.
